Journaling can be a great tool in our road to self discovery. I believe journaling holds truly transformative abilities. What other way could we be able to make sense of the crazy in our head? At times there can be a constant war at play in the confines of our brains. Writing out this ever increasing noise can feel so freeing. I’ve learned that I can only ignore these thoughts and feelings for so long. At some point I must deal with the chaos. I must learn to feel the all consuming feelings that I’ve tucked away for safe keeping. I must face the hard decisions that I’ve so conveniently chose to ignore. I must write how I truly feel, no matter how politically incorrect or hurtful it may sound. I must face my fears, and most of the time my worst enemy is myself. I must forgive myself for the mistakes or choices I’ve made. All of these truths are awakened in the eye opening process of journaling. There is no wrong or right way to pour your feelings and thoughts out on paper, which means there is no pressure. Just write. That single thought can give us the permission to open ourselves freely to the writing. Just write. Yes, we can do that. It is our privilege to pour our heart and soul out to the universe. It will in turn thank us for it, because we are finally being true to ourselves. How can we find our purpose, if we do not know ourselves? How can we live our true calling, if we do not know what that looks like? How can we envision our future, if we do not know what we have learned along our journey? Try journaling for yourself and reflect on how awakened you feel in the process. Now get those notebooks and pens out and get those juices flowing. And remember to “Just Write”.
